Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a lawyer?
No. Visa Vida is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Ryan is a former USCIS adjudicator, not an attorney. We help couples organize, review, and present their own petitions the same way you might prepare your own taxes with software. If your case needs legal advice, we'll point you toward a licensed immigration attorney.
What's the difference between K1, CR1, and IR1?
K1 is a fianc(e) visa you marry in the U.S. within 90 days of arrival. CR1 and IR1 are spouse visas where you're already married; CR1 is for marriages under two years at the time the green card is issued, IR1 is for marriages of two years or more. We support all three.
What if my case is unusual?
Most cases have something "unusual" about them prior marriages, complicated travel history, a big age gap, criminal history, prior denials. We'll be honest with you: if your situation needs an attorney, we'll say so before you pay.
How long does this take?
The document review and personalized checklist are typically delivered within 710 days of receiving your intake. The visa process itself takes months and varies by visa type and consulate the timeline guidance covers what to expect.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. If we haven't started your review yet, you get a full refund no questions. Once review work has started, we'll talk it through with you.
